Challenge

IssuesID is the ground-up successor to DefectID, software the construction industry has relied on to track defects and snags. The brief was to rebuild that capability as a modern, multi-tenant SaaS platform fit for how field teams actually work — capturing issues on site, in basements and lift shafts where there is no signal, without dropping back to spreadsheets, camera rolls and disconnected email threads. The platform had to serve many construction businesses from a single deployment with their data strictly isolated, and it had to produce a tamper-proof evidence trail strong enough to stand up at compliance handover.

Solution

CodeDrips delivered a custom web application built as an offline-first progressive web app, so field teams install it to the home screen and keep capturing defects, photos and annotated drawings with no connectivity, syncing automatically when they reconnect. The platform spans the full quality lifecycle — defects, inspections with signed PDF handover packs, work orders with cost-coded backcharges, RFIs, NCRs and role-based dashboards — all anchored to a structured tree of buildings, levels and rooms, with printable location-scoped QR codes that drop a worker straight into the right list.

Under the hood, a NestJS and Fastify API serves a React and Vite front end, with PostgreSQL and Drizzle ORM enforcing tenant isolation at the database layer through row-level security. Background jobs run on BullMQ and Redis, files are stored on S3-compatible object storage via presigned URLs, and event-driven workflow rules automate assignment, notification and escalation. Bidirectional Aconex sync with encrypted credentials lets IssuesID slot into an existing document-control stack rather than replace it.

Results

IssuesID launched as a production multi-tenant platform that closes the gap between what happens on site and what gets recorded. Offline capture means no lost photos and no hour-long re-entry when the network drops; immutable document revisions, withdraw-not-delete and a complete audit log on every status change mean the compliance evidence trail is already finished by the time a project reaches handover. The result is faster defect close-out, clearer accountability across trades, and quality control that holds up across every stage of a build. Explore the platform at issuesid.com.
